Students will understand function notation. Students will learn to evaluate functions.

9/11/13 - Objective Students will demonstrate their skills of evaluating functions

CW: Students will receive a series of questions and solve them in class with their group. Teacher will choose 1 question to ask 1 member of the group. Students are to work together and show each other how to do the work.

9/12/13 - Objective: Students will review Range and Domain. How to properly write range and domain of different functions, discrete and continuous.

9/13/13 - Objective: Hands on Activiy:

Students will discover the difference between a one to one function and a non-one to one function. How to use the horizontal line test.

CW: Students have 4 tasks of discovery. Task 1 Create a one to one function, Task 2 Create a function that is not one to one. Task 3 Use color pencils to graph each function. Task 4 Apply the vertical line test to both. Have each student also perform the horizontal line test. What are the similarieis and differences. What can the Horizontal line test Prove?

Students will ask questions from the workbook. Q and A Session. Homework is Due

Objective: Students are to create a function given a pattern.

Students are given a pattern and will be tested on 3 concetps:

- Given a pattern, find the existing cubes (Easy)
- Given a pattern, find the cubes for the 12th pattern. (Medium)
- Given a pattern, find the cubes for the nth pattern (Advanced)

Students will be working in their groups and collaboratively solving the problem. Each student will have to communicate in their own words their results.

Friday: DAY 2 Formative Project: Skeleton Tower

Collection of HW at the begining of class. Due during the first 5 min of class

7th Period: Students attended the Homecoming Parade and will make up Day 2 on Monday
